Acute medicine as a speciality has developed rapidly over the last number of years both nationally and internationally. The aim of this programme is to enable acute medicine nurses to develop their knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of acutely ill adults.

Duration
1 semester part-time, blended.
On-Campus Attendance
Students attend college 1 day per fortnight with online work undertaken between college days.
Entry Requirements
Registered General Nurses.
Currently engaged in a HSE or HSE funded Acute Medicine Unit/Emergency/General Medical Department for the duration of the programme.
Nurses from non HSE and non HSE funded organisations who work in Acute Medicine Unit/Emergency/General Medical Department may be offered a place on the course subject to meeting the course entry criteria and the availability of places.
