Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements to study this qualification. However, you’ll need:
• some basic knowledge of computing
• some knowledge of mathematics
• the ability to read and write to a good standard of English.
Mathematics is a key part of both computing and engineering. The level of mathematics you’ll need for this diploma is higher than for the single-subject Certificate of Higher Education in Computing and IT (T12) or Certificate of Higher Education in Engineering (T48). If you don’t have GCSE Maths at Grade C (4) or above (or equivalent), you might need to spend extra time practising and developing some basic maths skills during your study. Consider this when deciding which course is right for you and the time you have available for study.
Check you have the necessary skills at students.open.ac.uk/openmark/engineering.ayrf1.
