Entry Requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants should already hold a QQI Level 6 qualification.

Applicants who do not meet the minimum education requirements but are 23 years or older and have relevant work experience may still apply for consideration by the Institute.

If you are applying as a mature student be sure to submit your CV and any letters of reference you have from employers.

International students must have English level of IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent).

Tax relief at the standard rate of tax (20%) is available for certain tuition fees on courses which lead to third-level awards.

In certain circumstances students may receive financial aid in paying their fees from County Enterprise Boards, Leader Partnerships, Department of Social Protection and other organisations.

Through case studies, live projects and practical exercises, this programme gives non-technical persons a foundation and understanding of the world of data and the confidence to develop fundamental, business-oriented questions about what the business needs and how data can be used to create business value.

Participants who complete this course will have developed the skills to have meaningful data conversations at all levels in the organisation and develop data-driven business cases to deliver better decision making and increase competitiveness.

Who Should Apply?
This programme is aimed at nontechnical candidates and will provide them with a toolset to frame data problems in a business context, articulate business value, understand the organisation’s information supply chain and communicate and collaborate with data owners and teams.

This course comprises of one 10 credit module: Managing Data Analytics for Business Growth.

The aims of this programme are for candidates to be able to:
- Describe the field of data analytics
- Apply the standards, knowledge, and competencies of the business analysis discipline based on internationally recognised methodologies
- Discuss the concept of organisational data as a business asset
- Collect, integrate and analyse business data for trends and patterns
- Communicate effectively with a business analyst or data scientist.
- Plan and present findings of problem-solving efforts.
