1. A pass in the Higher Certificate in Engineering in Agricultural Mechanisation

2. An equivalent qualification to the Higher Certificate in Engineering in Agricultural Mechanisation with appropriate pre-requisite subjects.

Graduates may continue on to suitable Level 8 Bachelor of Engineering/Science honours degree course in TUS such as Mechanical Engineering. It focuses on the practical aspects of Agricultural Engineering such as modern electrical diagnostics techniques, the workings and repair of modern engines and transmissions. This is backed by subjects in machine design, material selection and hydraulics giving graduates the skills and technical ability to cope effectively with the rapidly changing technologies that are a feature of the farm machinery industry. The course is taught with a practical and hands-on approach, giving students the required education and training needed for a career in the farm machinery industry.

This course is run in conjunction with the Salesian Agricultural College, Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick. The delivery of the course is split evenly between the two campuses.

This course is largely directed at students with an interest in Agricultural Engineering who want to build on previous knowledge and advance their skills and knowledge in the farm machinery industry.
