This course is suitable for continuing and advanced students. It offers a supportive and encouraging environment as students work on their individual paintings within their ?own chosen medium of oil, watercolour, acrylic, pen and ink or other.

Students will be guided through the visual elements of painting – line, form, volume, perspective, composition, colour and texture – as they arises naturally in their work. There is a strong collaborative spirit to the course whereby students also learn from each other’s work. The end of term exhibition is both an enjoyable and valuable learning experience as students view their work in another context. The exhibition also demonstrates the diversity of approach with work in landscape, still life, portraiture and abstract composition.

This course will enable participants to discover their creative potential and deepen their understanding of the creative process. Students are guided to generate their own painting ideas and experiment freely with their chosen medium. Please attend the first class with your materials.

Carole Anne Floyd is a visual artist living in West Cork where she draws inspiration from the natural beauty of her immediate surroundings and from the mountains beyond. With a background in sculptural ceramics, Carole Anne currently works in watercolour, exploring, through her painting processes, an approach to landscape that reflects her concern with environmental and ecological issues. She is an experienced teacher and has taught art at second level and in adult education in both Ireland and abroad.
