Your Application
Application is through the University's online application system (see "Application Weblink").

Combining innovative approaches to applied drama and contemporary performance practice, this course works with individuals in small group teaching to make performances that break boundaries. Whether you’re interested in applied performance, arts and disability, performance and conflict resolution, or contemporary practice, this course will develop skills, knowledge, and experience.

The course includes a placement with a professional organisation of your choice and has close links with the industry including Theatre and Dance NI. It engages directly with the creative industries and related fields of employment. There are opportunities to work across discipline boundaries.

Our subject team of internationally recognised academics is committed to creating links between the course and the creative industries through placement experiences, visiting workshops, and talks by visiting professionals. You will also have the support of the University’s Careers and Employability team.

As well as preparing you for a variety of employment areas within the creative and cultural industries, the work on personal development planning and entrepreneurship creates learning opportunities that directly support you in maximising your career potential.

Work placement / study abroad
The module DRA705 includes both an exploration of the professional landscape, and a placement with a professional arts organisation.

The placement is negotiable in length but must include an element of consultancy: i.e., the student must have a specific set of responsibilities and a task to be completed. This might include surveys of audience base; development of marketing or social media presence; identification of funding sources; management of a time-limited project, or other.

The student will negotiate the placement with the module coordinator and the management of the arts organisation.
