Course Delivery
The course is delivered in one four hour class, one evening per week for one semester.
Entry Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements
To be eligible for entry to the course, prospective candidates must have obtained ONE of the following:
Five passes in the Leaving Certificate including Mathematics and either Irish or English.
OR Pass grade in the LCVP
OR Full Level 5 or 6 FET Award
OR Applicants with equivalent qualifications and/or relevant minimum 5 years work experience in the case of mature student applications (i.e. over 23 years of age).
AND Applicants MUST have a trade background or be a professional working within the property industry.

Tax Relief / Other Funders
Tax relief at the standard rate of tax (20%) is available for certain tuition fees on courses which lead to third-level awards.
For further information visit revenue.ie to receive a copy of form IT31. This applies only to students who are funding their studies from their own income. Always retain your receipt of payment from DkIT for tax purposes.
In certain circumstances students may receive financial aid in paying their fees from County Enterprise Boards, Leader Partnerships, Department of Social Protection and other organisations.
The course will focus on Sustainable Energy and Energy Technology
The knowledge, skills and competencies that participants will gain are relevant to their career development. The treatment of all course subjects will encourage the development of intellectual skills of analysis, synthesis, critique and communication. This will be achieved by building upon both prior learning and experience of participants to develop a broader understanding of low energy building design and management.
Who Should Apply?
This course has been designed to facilitate professionals practicing in the areas of building design, management and technology. Its purpose is to provide expertise in terms of; energy use, environmental performance and sustainability in the design and operation of buildings and their associated facilities and services systems
