The Advanced Fashion Design course focuses on the creative skills of theme and concept development for fashion design. Entry Requirements

- QQI Level 5 in Fashion Design or equivalent qualification or experience

- Applicants will ideally have passed the core technical modules of pattern drafting and garment construction or equivalent

- Applicants will need to submit images of some of their work to date to demonstrate their current abilities e.g.: garments made or under construction; design sketches (drawing work and other examples of fashion or craft-related work can also be submitted if wished.)

- Mature applicants welcome

- Applicants may be accepted without meeting formal entry requirements

All courses commence September 2024.

SCFE welcomes applications from qualified international applicants.

Applicants should bring samples of their work to date in order to demonstrate their interest in fashion design. Suggested work includes drawing and artwork, design sketches, scrapbooks, garments made or customised and artefacts.

Applications for 2024 are now open. You will be sent a confirmation email following your application.

To complete the process you will need:
- Your PPS number
- An email address
- A mobile phone number

Applicants are advised to pay particular care when entering details of their name, address and date of birth. Misspellings or inaccuracies when applying may result in issues and delays at later stages.

After offer and acceptance of place, a non-refundable acceptance fee of €50 is payable.

Fashion Design Advanced (With option to specialise in Costume, Tailoring or Dressmaking).

The Advanced Fashion Design course focuses on the creative skills of theme and concept development for fashion design. Core technical modules in advanced pattern drafting and garment construction equip the learner with the skills required to make their own menswear, womenswear or costume collections. Learners will also develop art and design portfolios suitable for application to Institutes of Technology and Universities. This course is suited to learners who have already achieved a QQI Level 5 certificate or equivalent in Fashion Design.
