Leaving Certificate, LCA or equivalent Mature applicants are welcome. Biology is not a requirement.

Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology

Successful completion of this course is a pre-requisite for progression to Year 2 Complementary Therapies in TCFE.

Career Opportunities
Therapists can work in Spas, Hotels, Gymnasiums, Complementary Health centres, Self-employment, and Cruise Liners. Work also in Centres for Well-Being such as Care Homes, Cancer Care/Palliative care centres.

Year 2:
Educational Progression
Spa Management course are available in a number of Technological Universities.

Career Opportunities
Therapists can work in Spas, Hotels, Gymnasiums, Complementary Health centres, Self-employment, Cruise Liners, and Centres for Well-Being. Work as a Physiotherapy assistant or in Cancer/Palliative care setting.

VTOS - Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme
If you are over 21 years of age, are unemployed and have been getting certain social welfare payments for at least 6 months you can apply for the Vocational Training and Opportunities Scheme (VTOS).

Applicants will be notified to attend a meeting at the College.

ENROLMENT PROCEDURE
STEP 1: COMPLETE APPLICATION FORM
Complete the online application form (link below). The application form can be completed at www.tcfe.ie

Alternatively go to www.fetchcourses.ieand apply by selecting your preferred course in Templemore, Co Tipperary.
When you apply online you will receive a personal account and ID. This will enable you to view all correspondence in relation to your application.
Please note,you will be required to up date your account with additional information if you are offered a place on a course that you wish to accept.

STEP 2: ATTEND FOR MEETING
Applicants will be notified to attend a meeting at the College.
Meetings are held a number of times from Springtime through to course commencement date. The meeting simply acts to match the applicant against the course in terms of suitability,commitment and expectation. An offer of a place is contingent on the applicant meeting the entry requirements of the course and satisfactory attendance at meeting.

STEP 3: OFFER OF A PLACE AND ACCEPTANCE
Successful applicants will be notified of the offer o fa place on a college course by email. To secure this place,applicants must pay the Registration fee of €50 before a set date,as indicated in the communication of the offer. You will be required to update the personal account you created on application with additional information if you wish to accept the offer of a place. Failure to comply may result in the place being forfeited
and offered to another applicant.

STEP 4: REGISTRATION AND INDUCTION
Students offered a place on a course will receive notification of the dates they must attend for
registration and induction. All students must attend the College on these designated dates.
Registration includes completion of the Learner Details form.

STEP 5:FOR STUDENTS WHOSE FIRST LANGUAGE IS NOT ENGLISH
For students whose first language is not English, you will also be advised at the time of meeting
that you may have to take an English Language Assessment to ensure you have the B2 standard required to successfully participate in your chosen course.

Complementary Therapies - Year 1:
Aims
A course designed for school leavers or adults who wish to become complementary health therapists and/or Sports Massage therapist and who want to develop their interest in the field of complementary therapies. Participant swill acquire a deep knowledge of complementary therapy theory and practice and an understanding of how these fit into the wider context of the health science.

The course offers an opportunity to get internationally recognised CIBTAC qualifications in a range of therapies to engage in professional practice.

Complementary Therapies - Year 2:
Aims
A course designed for those who have successfully completed Year 1 and wish to:
Acquire a deep knowledge of complementary therapy theory and practice and an understanding of how these fit into the wider context of the health science.

The course offers an opportunity to get internationally recognised CIBTAC qualifications in a range of therapies to engage in professional practice.

Work Experience/Placement
Students will get an opportunity to work with clients in clinics organised within and by the college.
