Operations Quality & Lean Management - Online
The main objective of the Certificate in Operations, Quality and Lean Management is to provide learners of all backgrounds with the opportunity to explore and develop their interest in these industries and sectors. This course will give learners the opportunity to further their skill, or re-skill and make a positive contribution to the economy through gaining an understanding of the dynamics of business and, in particular, from an industry perspective ensuring they are better at making decisions, solving problems and skilled for the workplace of the future. The course is suitable for people who wish to develop their careers in the Manufacturing (e.g. Food, Biopharamchem, Med-Tech, Engineering) and/or service sectors (e.g. Retail, Hospitality, Call Centres, Financial Services) but with a specific interest in the area of quality operations.

Duration
Online – Tuesday, Thursday & Selected Saturdays.
Tuesday 630pm-10pm (online) and Thursday 630pm-830pm (online)
Selected Saturdays (9am-1pm online)
Entry Requirements
Mature applicants (i.e. over 23 years) or Leaving Certificate -Grade O6 at ordinary level in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate. Two of these subjects must be Mathematics and a language (English or Irish) or any QQI Level 5 or Recognition of Prior Learning.
Careers / Further progression
Successful Candidates of Certificate in Operations, Quality and Lean Management can also continue their studies by advancing to the Level 6 Higher Certificate in Business continuing to Level 7 Bachelor of Business.

Quality management is the act of overseeing all activities and tasks that must be accomplished to maintain a desired level of excellence. Operations management is concerned with planning, organizing and supervising in the contexts of production, manufacturing or the provision of services. This programme is suitable for those who wish to develop their careers in the Manufacturing, Med-Tech, and Engineering and/or service sectors with a specific interest in the area of Quality Operations, and will satisfy the minimum-skilled requirements for an individual wishing to commence work in an Operations, Quality and Lean Management environment.
