Students complete and write up this project in a mini thesis/report with the support of an academic supervisor. It is also advised students arrange a team leader or similar to act as a project support mentor on site.

The project to be undertaken by the student should address a substantive issue in the workplace. The project will test the student’s ability to define a real life problem of concern to the company, design a strategy for addressing the problem, gather data, formulate and evaluate options and make recommendations. This project should be of a level that does not require an non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with ATU.
