Entry Requirements

Students must have a good working knowledge of computers, operating systems, using a mouse, keyboard, standard menus, and commands. Students must be able to open, save, and close applications and files, as well as navigate to other folders. A basic understanding of operators, formulas and basic functions (SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN, COUNT, IF) is needed to push forward with the intermediate to advanced requirements of the MOS Excel training.

If you have paid for a course which is subsequently cancelled, you will be notified and a full fee refund will be processed automatically. Refunds if processed are processed on a weekly basis and take approximately 2-3 weeks to present in the applicant bank account.

The MOS certificate is a worldwide industry standard.This course is suitable for anyone seeking a credential to validate their advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel by becoming a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS).There is a quick overview of the basic skills in Excel on the first night and then on to comprehensive training o enable you to pass the MOS Core Excel 2016?Exam 77-420. Each night covers an element of the course content in detail and outside of the classroom training,students use our online training forums to practice their skills and get ready for their online exam.Other skills gained is the ability to use the cloud and use email.

Course Content
Students learn how to create detailed worksheets, invoices, charts, and complex formulas achieve professional results in a fraction of the time.Workbook examples include professional-looking budgets, financial statements, team performance charts, sales invoices and data-entry logs.

Creating and managing worksheets and workbooks
Create, navigate, format, customize options and views, configure worksheets and workbooks for distributions.
Managing data cells and ranges
Insert data in cells and ranges, format cells and ranges, summarize and organise data.
Creating tables
Create and manage tables, manage table styles and options, filter and sort a table.
Performing operations with formulas and functions
Summarize data by using functions,perform conditional operations by using functions, format and modify text by using functions
Creating charts and objects
Create charts, format graphic elements, insert and format objects

Changes in the MOS 2016 exams

MOS 2016 exam task instructions generally do not include the command name, as in previous versions. For example, function names are avoided and are replaced with descriptors. This means candidates must understand the purpose and common usage of the program functionality in order to successfully complete the tasks in each of the projects.

The MOS 2016 exam format incorporates multiple projects

Viable courses:
For a course to commence, it is necessary to enrol a minimum number of participants. If this number is not reached, the course will be cancelled.

Course deferral:
Once a course commences, participants may not defer their place on that course to another term.

Transfers policy:
If a participant wishes to transfer to a different course within the same term, a request should be sent by email to info.gti@gretb.ie

Assignments / projects:
Dates for submission of coursework will be provided by the tutor at the beginning of the course. Coursework will not be returned to the participant once submitted for assessment. Therefore, it is advised that a hard copy of all coursework submitted should be retained by the student.

Self-directed learning:
It is the responsibility of the participants to inform themselves as to course content, duration, etc.
