Minimum Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate: O6/H7 in 5 subjects or Leaving Certificate Applied or QQI Level 4 Equivalent qualifications will be considered. Mature applicants who have relevant industry experience and may not meet the above requirements are welcome to apply.

Progression Opportunities and Employment Prospects
Sports Coaching (Personal Trainer) QQI Level 6 at Inchicore College leads to the valuable ITEC Personal Trainer Award as well as QQI Level 6 Award in Sport, Recreation and Exercise. You may also progress to the BTEC Sports Science Diploma.
QQI 5M5146 Sport, Recreation & Exercise major award leads to many CAO courses through the Higher Education Links Scheme including:
• TUD, Sports Management and Coaching, Sports and Leisure Management
• SETU Carlow, Sports Coaching and Business Management
• TUS Athlone, Athletic and Rehabilitation Therapy

All our courses have had the charges reduced to a €50 registration charge which you will need to pay to accept your offer. This charge covers your full course costs for the year.

About the Course
Successful completion of this course will be the first step towards a career working with sports teams or individuals as a qualified strength and conditioning coach. Specialist courses are provided as an option to achieve ITEC qualifications to industry standard, equipping you with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in the field of strength and conditioning.
You will spend four days per week in college receiving extensive training in instruction and conditioning techniques. Practical training will take place in our fully equipped gym on campus. On the fifth day, you will be based in an industry setting such as a strength and conditioning facility or a gym where you can enhance your skills and employment opportunities.
Students are encouraged to participate in college sports activities which are generally held on Wednesday afternoons.
