Foundation Degree, Diploma in Higher Education or a Higher National Diploma in a Sports-related subject, based on a 50% or above profile.

GCSE Grade C in English and Maths (or equivalent). Suitable applicants will be invited for interview.

Progression Opportunities
Students who have completed their BSc (Hons) Degree in Sport and Exercise may progress to another institution to complete programmes such as Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Education, MSc Sports Coaching and Performance, MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology, MSc Sport and Exercise Nutrition, MSc Strength and Conditioning. Alternatively, students may move into employment.

Overview
The BSc (Hons) Degree in Sport and Exercise course will focus on developing knowledge of the field (content) whilst giving the learners the opportunities to apply their learning in practical contexts (experience) whilst enhancing their learning through problem solving approaches (challenging and authentic tasks). Skills Focus funding available towards course fees for eligible employers to up skill staff or for self-employed students.

Course Content
The learning approaches will take into account the diverse backgrounds of learners nurturing them through level six, whilst developing them into independent learners and critical divergent thinkers ready for employment or postgraduate study (Inclusive environment, activities linked to student experience). This course aims to produce high quality graduates who wish to top up from a Foundation Degree or HND to a full BSc Honours Degree in Sport & Exercise in one year.

At level 6 learners will undertake four compulsory 20 credit modules and one compulsory 40 credit module.

In order to demonstrate achievement, learners typically undertake assessment activities that include a series of tasks or assignments, reflecting typical practice in sector concerned. The assessment methods used provide opportunities for learning as well as assessment and these include essays, reports, presentations, case study, portfolio, and video work.
