Safepass with Blocklaying
Duration
This course is scheduled to run 2 evenings a week, Monday and Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm for 10 weeks.
Learners will have to be in Training Centre for 1 weekday for Safepass course. Date to be advised.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must have reached the current statutory school leaving age.

A fee waiver is in place for applicants in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment. You can check your fee waiver eligibility with Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP), INTREO or your Local Employment Service (LES) office.
Work on construction sites without being a danger to yourself or others and learn the basics of brick and block laying.
Course Overview
This course will provide the applicants with the skills, knowledge and attitudes that will enable them to work on construction sites without being a danger to themselves or others.
What will I study?
Health and safety at work regulations,
Accident reporting and emergency procedures
Accident prevention
Health & hygiene
Techniques for lifting & carrying
Working safely at heights, underground services and overhead electric cables
Using hand-held equipment, personal protective equipment, vehicles & mobile plant and excavations & confined spaces
Brick and blocklaying techniques.
