2 years full-time.

Contact Hours per week
15 hours contact time to include practical classes, lectures, workshops or tutorials plus up to 1.75 hours per week to complete an employability qualification. A maximum of 18 hrs per week.

Mandatory Additional Study
Maximum of 7 hours per week average over the academic year.

Personal Study
22 hours maximum studying and preparing assessments in your own time per week, including use of online materials.

Entry Requirements

General Entry Requirements
The general entry requirements below identify the minimum qualifications needed to apply for the programme. Other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis on application. You are required to upload a copy of your qualification certificates to show how you meet the entry requirements for the programme prior to enrolment. Applications will also require successful completion of the admissions process.

Course Entry Requirements
A minimum of 32 UCAS Tariff points including:
- A HNC in International Travel and Tourism Management
- GCE A level (A2): Typical grade profile CC OR
- [RQF] Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Travel & Tourism with overall award profile PP OR
- Access to HE Diploma (NI): 45% overall OR
- An equivalent in an approved alternative qualification.

Accreditation of Prior Learning
Alternatively, you can provide evidence of your ability to undertake the programme by meeting the requirements for the Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process, either through Accredited Prior Certificated Learning (APCL) or Accredited Prior Experiential Learning (APEL). Successful completion of the HND in International Travel and Tourism Management equips students to work within the industry. The HND provides students with flexibility of choice and opportunity to enhance current skills, knowledge and employability e.g. promotion opportunities, in their existing professional roles in a relevant sector e.g. Marketing and Sales Manager.

How will it make me more employable?
The course provides comprehensive vocational content delivered through tourism specific modules. You will be provided with opportunities to gain both academic and industry skills, along with a variety transferable skill (communication, organisational skills, problem solving, leadership, critical thinking.) A key component of the course is undertaking a “Research Project” where you will research a key tourism theme, relating to a current issue within the Travel and Tourism industry. These skills will assist you with understanding developments in the industry and support your path when applying for employment within the tourism industry.

Course Structure
The HND in International Travel and Tourism Management is achieved following progression form the HNC in International Tourism Management. Timetabled over 15 hours per week and an additional 1.75 hours per week, to complete and employability qualification. Study includes a combination of classroom teaching and scheduled educational visits and guest speakers. You will study 3/4 modules over each academic semester (7 in total).

Students are assessed using a range of different methods. These include examinations, e-portfolios, coursework, presentations, practical, posters, leaflets, role-play, and case studies. This is dependent on the requirements of each unit of study. Oral, written and online feedback will be provided during your course to help improve and monitor performance.
