QQI Community Health Services with a Merit/Distinction profile.
or
Those with QQI Level 5 certificates in related areas of study or equivalent qualifications may also apply.

Mature applicants who have relevant experience and may not meet the above entry requirements are welcome to apply.

6M2218 Social and Vocational Integration major award may be used to progress to many courses in the Higher Education Links Scheme including Social Care, Social Science and Childcare & Education.

About the Course
This advanced course explores societal issues of marginalisation including disability, mental health and addiction. You will gain an understanding of the Irish statutory and voluntary services set up to assist people and the psychological interventions that support wellbeing and rehabilitation.
This emphasis of the course shifts to raising personal and interpersonal awareness, exploring the development of our own behaviour and attitudes and equipping you with the knowledge and skills to manage relationships within the work environment. The applications of Psychology, its concepts and theories are embedded throughout this exciting and innovative course.
For those who are interested, Applied Psychology in the Community offers progression routes to Psychology or its affiliated fields in higher education and employment in the community and voluntary sector.
