Art with Animation
The Art with Animation course offers students the opportunity to explore the animation industry and to develop skills needed for this area. Alongside the fundamental skills such as drawing, painting and sculpture learners will also study subjects specific to animation and industry. The student will complete this course with a comprehensive range of skills and a professional portfolio of work, which can used for third level applications.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate or equivalent standard of education
Successful completion of interview and online assessment
Applicants are also requested to present samples of their work
Good drawing skills are essential

EDUCATION PROGRESSION OPTIONS
Students who successfully complete this Level 5 course may have the option to continue their studies at the Centre, progressing to our QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Art.
Students can apply to any third level art course to further their studies. Degrees in Animation are currently offered by LSAD, AIT and IADT.

There are no tuition fees payable to Abbeyleix Further Education and Training Centre. However, please note there are costs involved in taking a course e.g. materials, additional training and QQI exam fees.
There is free transport available from Portlaoise, Mountmellick, Portarlington, Rathdowney and Mountrath,
FUNDING
VTOS/PLC places are available on the course (please contact the Centre for further information). The range of financial support available to students includes: Student Maintenance Grant (SUSI) and the Back to Education Allowance. For further information click on HEA Student Finance and SUSI
