Entry Requirements

Registration as a nurse with Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann. BSc (Hons) or equivalent NFQ Level 8 qualification in nursing or cognate discipline at 2nd class honours award level.

The MSc in Nursing (International) is constructed within the context of health, nursing and educational policy developments. The programme facilitates professional planning and leadership for participants within clinical practice, within management, research and/or education.

All relevant University facilities are available together with the purpose built Sólás building which has excellent discussion and lecture rooms, practical skills suites, interpersonal skills, and computing laboratories. Blackboard and Facebook discussion boards and web-based reusable learning objects contribute to evolving and dynamic teaching and learning facilities at the University. A wide range of library facilities and database access provide the information resources for successful course completion.

The aim of this MSc in Nursing (International) is to develop postgraduates with an advanced level of theoretical knowledge, leadership and research skills in nursing. These skills will enable learners to become leaders in their designated fields of healthcare. The programme aims to enable graduates to provide expert knowledge in shaping current and future changes in nursing and health care services.
