Busines with Law - Pre-University
This one-year course prepares learners for progression to Law and Business degree programmes at university or for a career in the field of legal administration. The programme will introduce learners to the core principles of Law and the Irish legal system combined with Business Studies. You will get the opportunity to study several different branches of Law and Business to discover the area that interests you most to pursue at degree level.

Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate with five O6 grades (or five passes pre 2017) or equivalent is the standard entry requirement for Level 5 courses. Leaving Certificate Applied or QQI Level 4 Award are also acceptable on the majority of Level 5 courses.
Some courses have subject specific requirements and these will be noted on relevant course pages.
A QQI Level 5 award or equivalent in a relevant subject area is the standard entry requirement for Level 6 Advanced Certificate courses.

Good News Regarding Your Course Fees 2022-2023
This year, Monaghan Institute and CMETB have announced plans to significantly reduce fees on full time courses. This means that your course fees have been reduced to a maximum of €200. If you have a Medical Card/Social Welfare Payment, the fee will be €150. This fee includes all course materials, exam fees, toolkits, and uniforms.
Full-time learners may be eligible to apply for PLC maintenance grants, which are means tested. For further details, visit www.studentfinance.ie or www.susi.ie where applications can be made online or downloaded.
You can apply online now. Applications close in October each year and reopen for the next academic year in January.

What will you study?
Pre-University Law with Business is designed to provide learners with an in-depth knowledge of concepts relevant to business/legal environments, with an emphasis on Accounting, Business Administration, Business Law and Criminal Law. Graduates are equipped with the analytical and evaluation skills that stem from legal training combined with legal and financial literacy.
Students will complete core law and business subjects including:
Business Law
Accounting Manual and Computerised
Business Administration Skills
Common subjects such as Mathematics, Customer Service, Work Experience and Word Processing may also be included.
You will be assessed on the basis of:
