Course Description:
Data continues to permeate sport fields, tracks, and courts, revealing valuable insight into a team’s/individuals performance. This course will provide an “Introduction to Performance Analysis in Sport”, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to develop a performance analysis process into their coaching. Why use performance analysis, what are the best teams/clubs doing, where analysis fits into the coaching process. How to start analysis performances, working alongside the coaching team, what to collect, why are we collecting it, how do we use it, building your own system for analysis, managing the data you collect, Live/Pre/ and Post Analysis Systems, delivering feedback, creating performance knowledge and gaining insight.

Glen Kelly is a Sport Management and Coaching graduate from TU Dublin. Now a postgraduate research student and teaching assistant in TUDUBLIN Blanch. He is GAA and an ISPAS Accredited Analyst. Glen is currently a postgraduate researcher, investigating the characteristics of successful performances in Ladies Gaelic Football in comparison to the men’s game. This study aims to address the imbalance of knowledge by investigating the game demands of Ladies GF and establishing if research is transferable within the male and female Gaelic Sports. Glen also has over 4 years’ experience working in an applied setting ranging from club teams to international athletes in sports such as GAA, Soccer, Combat Sports.
