Autism Studies – A foundation course
Course Content
This course is designed to provide information to parents of newly diagnosed autistic children. Using practical, evidence-based methods, a wide array of topics will be covered including: What autism looks like in real terms; Sensory processing and Anxiety management; Emotional regulation strategies; Confidence building and making friends; Navigating the school system and IEP/SSP; Advocacy skills to support your child; Creating structure across all environments. This course aims to lay a foundation by ideally positioning participants to meet the needs of their child and navigate any school situation they need to.
