15 weeks (1 evening per week).

Entry Requirements

Education: Applicants should have a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 4.

Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.

Previous experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

Careers / Further progression

Progression Routes: Students who complete this course will have achieved the basic ICT skills required to use computers, devices and the internet. They may progress to other ICT related courses to build their skills and related knowledge further within further education and training.

This course has been designed for those who have little or no previous knowledge of computers. The IC3 Global Standard 5 (GS5) delivers a comprehensive solution for learning how to succeed in any environment that requires the use of computers, devices, or the Internet. This is a foundation level programme which will enhance a student's ability to effectively use software applications on a PC or computer.
