Computer Science - Research
Computer Science offers MSc and PhD degrees comprising an extended period of research and the submission of a dissertation. Admission to a research degree is at the discretion of the potential supervisor (a member of academic staff) and the Head of Discipline.

Entry Requirements
Candidates must have a good honours degree (typically First Class Honours or 2:1) in a relevant area. You are recommended to begin by contacting a member of Information Technology academic staff whose research interests are most closely aligned to yours. For MSc Applied Computing & IT: Candidates must hold at least a 2nd Class Honours Primary Degree in a related subject area or hold a Primary Degree in a related area without honours (which is acceptable to College) and have practical experience in the subject area over a period of not less than three years.
Academics will help you to identify a good research topic and can advise you of funding opportunities.

Applicants should have an honours primary degree in computing/IT or related areas. Applications for MSc and PhD by research can be made at any time, but registration follows the normal academic year cycle.
