2 years full-time.

Contact Hours per week:
16.75 hours contact time to include practical classes, lectures, workshops or tutorials.

Mandatory Additional Study
Maximum of 3 hours per week average over the academic year.

Personal Study
22 hours maximum studying and preparing assessments in your own time per week, including use of online materials.

Entry Requirements

Students who wish to gain admission at first year of the Foundation Degree:

- Must possess a minimum of 64 UCAS points (normally from A levels or Level 3 Diploma) or access to Higher Education Diploma with an overall average of 45+%

- Applicants must have achieved a minimum of Grades C or above in English and Maths or other equivalent qualifications, such as Essential Skill Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy.

- In addition to Maths and English, two additional GCSE’s at Grade C or above are required.

- Complete the admissions process which includes passing an entry assessment into the course.

This will be assessed via an entry test as part of the interview and selection process.

Applicants who do not hold any formal Level 3/4 qualifications but hold significant and relevant Industrial experience may gain admission through experiential learning and should request the college Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) procedure.

Where will it take me?
Successful completion of the course could lead to either a career in the motorsport or related industry or to a related degree programme.

How will it make me more employable?
On completion of the course it is envisaged that students will:
- Have acquired a high level of motorsport engineering skills and relevant industrial exposure to allow them to gain employment within the motorsport sector.

- Understand the relationship between key areas of motorsport technologies including engine technologies, chassis design, emerging technologies and sustainability issues.

- Effectively plan, present and manage motorsport projects.

- Identify the opportunities available to them upon completion of the course including life-long learning.

£2850. Please note, course fees are payable on each year of the Programme.

As part of the course you will be in the workshop. You will therefore require suitable PPE (boots, overalls, gloves etc estimated cost £ 100.

As part of the course you will be expected to participate in field trips to race events which will incur an estimated cost of £100.

This programme is delivered using a hybrid learning approach.

Students are assessed using a range of different methods. These include time constrained assignments, coursework, Project Based Learning, presentations, practical, posters, leaflets, role-play, and case studies. This is dependent on the requirements of each unit of study. Oral, written and online feedback will be provided during your course to help improve and monitor performance.
