There are approximately forty Higher Education Institutions including Universities, Institutes of Technology and private colleges offering places on a range of courses to QQI full award certificate holders. Full awards can also be used for graduates' progression to Further Education level 6 courses - visit cao.ie for further information. Full awards can also be used for entry to UK, European and International universities, on a case-by-case basis.

This course will also provide you with a variety of career opportunities such as working in Landscaping and Gardening Centres, Parks/Grounds Keeping (OPW or City/Council Councils), Organic Food Production and even Starting Your Own Business.

There is now no cost associated with making an application for a course.

A €50 registration cost (which is non-refundable) will be paid by the applicant at the point of acceptance of an offer of a place on a course.

In addition to the normal PLC registration fee, costs which up until now have been paid directly by a learner themselves for items such as uniforms, equipment or fees to external exam bodies will now be covered by City of Dublin ETB.

Possible Fee Exemptions:
You may be exempt from paying QQI Exam Fees if you satisfy one of the following criteria:

You hold a full medical card in your own right
You are the dependent child of a full medical card holder
You are eligible for a student grant from SUSI (letter from SUSI required)
You are getting Back to Education Allowance or a VTOS allowance

Our hands-on and practical course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge needed to work in the dynamic and developing Horticulture sector. Students will study areas such as Plant Identification, Plant Science, Soil Management and Fruit & Veg Production. Students on this course are assisted with work experience placements.
