Caring for the Child with a Life-Limiting Condition - Level A Programme
To raise an awareness of the principles and practices of utilising a palliative care approach in the provision of health and social services for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

On completion of the programme the participant should be able to:
Describe the philosophy and principles of caring for children with a life-limiting condition, in any healthcare setting, by the multidisciplinary team
Discuss the implications of a life-limiting condition for the child and family
Identify the statutory and voluntary agencies that deliver services for children with life-limiting conditions
Discuss appropriate pain management for children with a life-limiting condition
Describe some of the common therapies available for children with life-limiting conditions
Discuss the ethical issues related to palliative care for children
