• Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, or equivalent
• Interview
• Mature applicants welcome
• Preference will be given to students who will complete all eight modules.
• Applicants whose first language is not English will require a competency as stated in our admissions policy

The maintenance grant is means tested and the award of a grant amount is the responsibility of www.susi.ie

All projects are broad enough to allow students to develop a portfolio suitable to their particular interests – Fine Art, Design, Animation etc. Visits to various art gallery’s throughout Ireland takes place during the college term to inform, develop and stimulate the students’ knowledge of the arts. Work experience takes place throughout the year. It involves two weeks of work placement, artists talks and weekly tutorials. Learners may also choose to progress their studies into Higher Education through the Higher Education Links Scheme.

Work Experience
Art & Design students will have the opportunity to complete their work experience on the beautiful Island of Tenerife, Spain through the Erasmus+ programme. This is a paid internship for three weeks with no expense to the student. This will give participants a unique opportunity to experience living in another culture, enjoy travelling, improve language skills, gain a Europass Qualification, add this experience to your CV and get that valuable job.

This is a practical course where learning takes place primarily in an art room.

SCFE has developed a style of teaching to meet the needs of a diverse community of learners.
