All key areas of Economics are covered, including Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics and a range of applied courses such as Labour Economics, International Trade, Economics of Sport and Finance.

A performance of 60% or better in the HDip Economic Science guarantees a place on our MSc Economics programme, MHH52.

The programme covers Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics and a range of optional modules such as Labour Economics, International Trade, Economics of Sport and Finance.

Students take four compulsory modules, including a research-based thesis, and eight optional modules chosen to suit the background and career goals of the individual student. Students discuss which modules would be best for them with the Programme Director at the start of the academic year, and are helped to devise the optimal programme of study for themselves. Students who wish to take a module from another department may do so, subject to the permission of that department. (Not all combinations of modules may be available, due to timetable considerations.)
