ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A student over 16 years seeking entry to this programme does not need a previous formal qualification. Should the student have previous qualifications, one of the following may be advantageous for admission to the programme:
- Leaving Certificate/LCA
- QQI Level 4 Award
- It is recommended that Applicants have attained a Pass grade in Leaving Cert Ordinary Level Maths or equivalent
- Students who may not have formal academic requirements but who have the ability to successfully participate on the course will be considered. (RPL Recognition of Prior Learning)
- LCA and Leaving Certificate Foundation Maths students must sit a short Maths test in Cathal Brugha FET College as part of the - Induction process
- Mature applicants welcome
- If English is not your first language you may be asked to complete an English assessment

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
The college welcomes applications from qualified international applicants. Non-EU learners whose visas do not confer access to publicly funded education may be required to pay a course fee of €3654 for their course if eligible. For further details, please contact the college. Applicants who are in the international protection system and have been granted permission to work are not eligible for the €3654 non-EU fees. Applicants will be required to provide proof of their immigration status (eg. GNIB card, permission to work letter issued by the Department of Justice) as part of the enrolment process.
Mature students are welcome to apply. Formal academic qualifications not required.

HOW WILL I LEARN?
You will have a mixture of classroom-based subjects, laboratory practicals, mandatory work placement and independent study. You will be expected to complete assignments throughout the year. Course work will consist of a combination of onsite & online learning.
HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
A full Award is granted on passing the relevant eight components. You will be assessed throughout and at the end of the year (Continuous Assessment). On successful completion of each component, you will be awarded a Pass, a Merit or a Distinction grade.
