The Anatomy & Physiology Diploma is the foundation upon which all other Complementary, Beauty & Sports Therapy awards are based. It provides a sound understanding of anatomy, physiology as well as a comprehensive knowledge of diseases & disorders of the human body so that all learners will be aware of when & when not to treat a client & only operate within certain parameters.

Once learners have achieved the VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology they may progress on to other VTCT (ITEC) or equivalent qualifications at level 3 for example:

Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology
Aims and objectives
The main aim of the VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology is to enable learners to gain the necessary underpinning knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology required by the complementary therapies, beauty therapy and sport and fitness industry. This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and over and is designed to provide occupational competence at level 3. It also provides a sound platform into further training at level 3.
Content
This qualification is for learners who want to work within the complementary therapies, beauty therapy or sport and fitness industry. The qualification consists of 1 mandatory unit with a total of 100 hours of Guided Learning (GL) to achieve the full qualification.
The main knowledge the learner will develop is:
The anatomy, physiology and pathology of the body systems - to include the cell, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, lymphatic, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems.
This qualification will be internally and externally assessed. Once all underpinning knowledge has been completed the learner will have a final external multiple choice theory examination.
Qualification Structure
To be awarded the VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology, learners must achieve the mandatory unit.
The minimum GLH required to achieve this qualification is 100 The minimum TQT required to achieve this qualification is 370.
