Students develop core skills that can help advance to more specialised professional dance opportunities in performance or in education.

Duration
This is a one year course but students on successful completion of Dance 1 may progress to Dance 2. Exceptionally talented students have the possibility to progress directly to one of the Further Education colleges in London.
Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate or equivalent - with exceptions made for talented younger students.
A high degree of motivation and a passionate interest in dance* are required.
All applicants are auditioned and places are awarded on suitability.

Interviews are held a number of times per year from Springtime through to course commencement. The interview simply acts to match the applicant against the course in terms of suitability, commitment and expectation.
Graduates from this course progress to higher education or they continue to dance professionally or to teach dance. This course offers an opportunity to improve and perfect technical dance skills across a range of dance disciplines and to gain an introduction to teaching qualifications. All students will take ISTD exams. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a high level of motivation, commitment and a passion for dance.
