32 UCAS Points + OLC (Grade 05 or above) in English. Interview also required.
Careers / Further progression
Further Study
Students completing the HNC/HND Creative Media Production (Journalism) course progress to further Higher Education study, including possible entry to Year Two undergraduate journalism degree courses at some universities. Students may also progress, depending on HND achievement, to the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism course at North West Regional College.
Career Prospects
The BTEC Higher National qualifications in Creative Media Production are designed to address an increasing need for high quality professional and technical education pathways at Levels 4 and 5, providing students with a clear line of sight to employment or progression to further higher education study.

Course Overview
Journalism is a creative, challenging and hugely interesting subject area. It covers a wide range of topics and interests and allows students to go behind the scenes of their areas of interest an concern. This Higher National Certificate - Higher National Diploma course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required for success in future employment, or for progression to an undergraduate degree or the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism course. Covering TV, radio, photographic, print and online journalism, teaching will take place in the purpose-designed media suite in the Strand Road campus. Students will complete a HNC in Creative Media Production (Journalism) in Year 1 before progressing to a HND in Year 2. All students taking this course will contribute to the online multimedia weekly newspaper, iNews, and to the college radio station, 3CR.
