Early Learning & Care
This one year Level 5 QQI programme in Early Learning and Care provides a foundation in Early Childhood Studies for 0 – 6 year old child. It provides an opportunity to progress to employment or further study in Early Learning and Care Sector. This course contains a mix of practical and theoretical elements with workshops organised throughout the year.

Duration
This is a one-year full time course and runs from September to May.
Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate/LCVP or Leaving Cert Applied
A FETAC/QQI Level 4 qualification
Mature students (age 23+) welcome
Interview
Garda vetting must be successfully completed.
Police Clearance required if lived abroad for more than 6 months over the age of 18 years.

Progression/Career Opportunities:
On completion of this programme learners will have the skills, knowledge and competencies to work independently and under supervision in a range of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) settings and/or to progress to Higher Education and Training.

To accept your place, students will be asked to pay exam fees of €50 for QQI Level 5 or €80 for QQI Level 6 Examinations.
Medical Card holders are exempt from paying both of those fees, but must produce a valid medical card to accept their place.
Those in receipt of a Student Grant, a Back to Education Allowance (BTEA) or a Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS) allowance may also be exempt, but must provide evidence of same. A student services fee of €100 is also payable by all students to accept your place.
