Nursing Studies including Infection Control
This course is aimed at students who wish to enter the nursing profession in Ireland, UK or other countries. Students are prepared for further study or employment in the nursing sector. Work experience is provided in hospitals, nursing homes and special need facilities. Manual Handling and First Aid courses are also components of this programme. The course is delivered by a registered Nurse.

Duration
1 year. All courses run from September to May.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must have completed the Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied or its
equivalent, unless otherwise stated. For Mature applicants, previous work experience can be
used to gain entry.
Suitable For:
• Those who wish to up-skill to re-enter the labour market.
• Those who wish to access Third Level Education via a QQI award.
• Experienced mature persons seeking a formal qualification.

An exam fee of €50 for QQI Level 5 and €80 for QQI Level 6 applies to all learners except
1. Those in receipt of Back to Education Allowance.
2. Medical Card Holders (valid at the time of Registration)
