Entry Requirements
Five passes in the Leaving Certificate/ Applied or QQI Level 4 or equivalent qualification. Prior learning and practical work experience taken into account at interview stage. Mature and international students are most welcome to apply.
A limited number of VTOS places are available.

- Carpentry and Joinery
- Wood manufacturing and Finishing
On completion of the course, students are prepared for employment, including employment with building contractors, carpenters and wood manufacturing industries.

The College welcomes applications from international students provided that such students satisfy all the requirements of the immigration authorities and are deemed eligible by the Department of Education and Skills to participate in our courses. We have many international students attending programmes in the college at the present time and their presence contributes greatly to the life of the college in terms of richness and diversity.
Mature students are invited to apply 23 years and over.

Means-tested maintenance grants are available to eligible students attending approved full-time courses of further education in approved Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) centres, of which Plunket College of Further Education is one. Applications can be made online to Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI) through www.susi.ie.

Offers are made on a first-come, first-served basis so confirmation is vital if you wish to hold your place. Failure to register by the set date will mean that your place will be offered to the next person on the list.
This one year full-time course at Post-Leaving Certificate level is designed for students who aspire to apprenticeships in Carpentry & Joinery or related trades. It also allows successful students the opportunity to progress into further studies at Third Level or Further Education.
