Security Operations Management
The aim of the programme is to provide the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to work in supervisory security activities for example; retail security, event security, airport security, door supervisor or to progress to further or higher education or training.

Entry Requirements
Education: No formal education or qualifications are required although applicants may have participated in primary and secondary education. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate a standard of knowledge, skill and competence equivalent to NFQ Level 5 when accessing a Level 6 programme.
Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a broad range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course and be able to exercise initiative and independence when carrying out course activities.
Careers / Further progression
Programme Progression
On completion of this programme learners will have the skills, knowledge and competencies to work independently as a Security Supervisor in a range of private security activities, or to progress to higher education or training.
Further information
Students taking Further Education Courses are eligible for PLC maintenance grants. These grants are means tested and depend on individual financial circumstances. All grant applications are handled by SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) www.susi.ie

Work experience is also a core feature of the Security Operations programme with students spending time in an security setting. This facilitates the enhancement of employability and transversal skills.
