Emergency Care Personnel - Pre- Paramedic Fire & Ambulance
This course is designed to introduce students to the challenges and opportunities of working in emergency services. Participants will be introduced to careers such as paramedic, fire officer and emergency medical technician and be prepared for further study in this area.

Duration
This is a full-time one-year course which runs from September to May.
Entry Requirements
A Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent is required, although exceptions are given to mature students who are over 23 years of age. Entry is subject to interview.
Careers / Further progression
Careers and Progression:
Students who successfully complete the course may gain entry to third level institutes and colleges through the Higher Education Links Scheme. Graduates may also apply to HSE-Student Paramedic – National Ambulance Training College (subject to HSE eligibility criteria.) There is also the potential to progress to paramedic degree courses in the UK and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses in Ireland.
