Pearse College’s one year Repeat Leaving Certificate course is an ideal opportunity for you to repeat your Leaving Certificate or assist your entry to University, Institutes of Technology or Post Leaving Cert courses.

Duration
The Repeat leaving certificate course is one academic year (September to end May).
Entry Requirements
Applicants to the Repeat Leaving Certificate Course are required to have sat the Leaving Certificate Examination within the last 4 years.
Applicants must submit their Leaving Certificate Results printout at the interview stage.
Mature students (21+) are welcome to apply provided they have previously sat the Leaving Certificate Examination and entry will be considered on an individual basis.

Career Opportunities
Directly into employment with landscapers, garden centres and related areas.
Many of our past students have also set up their own business.
Third Level Links/Progression
Many students use the Leaving Certificate to gain employment or to go on to further study. The Adult Leaving Certificate course assists entry to the Science and Business area as well as the Arts / Humanities at third level. It is not only recognized in this country but it is also very highly regarded in many other countries as a qualification for entry into third level colleges. Finally, it is especially useful for mature students embarking on a total career change.

Students can then choose from:
Geography or Biology
French or Biology
History or Accountancy
Business or Phys-Chem
Students should be aware that some subject combinations may not be possible.
Students may also choose to study a subject at home which is not listed above, and may sit the exam in the college.
The Irish Leaving Certificate is a prestigious and internationally recognised academic achievement award. It is now a basic requirement for most forms of employment.
