Language Courses
We are new running evening courses in Spanish, French, Korean, Japanese and Chinese (Mandarin) for adults who would like to learn a new language, or improve their conversational skills for travel, holidays and business. Our French and Spanish courses focus on conversational language, and cover some cultural aspects of the countries in which those languages are spoken. Basic grammar will be covered but the focus is on building vocabulary and confidence in conversation. Reading and writing, including the special characters used, will be covered in the Chinese, Japanese and Korean courses but here too speaking and listening will be the main focus. Our tutors are native speakers where possible.

Chinese (Mandarin) for Beginners:
After a term of ten beginner's lessons you will find yourself familiar with basic grammar, a decent amount of vocabulary and commonly used daily phrases. The class will focus on developing listening and speaking skills of the learners. Basic Chinese characters (simplified), as well as Pinyin, the Chinese language sound system, will be introduced.

Chinese (Mandarin) Intermediate:
The intermediate/improvers course is designed for students who have completed the beginner's study or achieved the same level through other forms of study. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand the main ideas of a complex text, have more vocabulary and be able to apply more grammar. We will work to improve Chinese language skills of the learners in respect to listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Tutor: a native speaker
