Do you feel mentally charged and in love with life when you’re physically active and outdoors?
Are you trying to figure out what direction to take in life?
Do you want to try something new?
Would you simply like to have fun and meet new people?
At Lough Allen College we get it. We all have different interests, goals and motivations.
For us, the call of outdoor adventure was too great to ignore and we didn’t take the conventional route after school.
We became skilled in all sorts of outdoor adventure sports including becoming snorkelling and freediving masters, kayaking kings and even sailed yachts around the world (and we got paid for it too!).
And yes, we had to do a little study along the way. Sorry to disappoint you!
We started with ZERO skills but as we learned and improved, we also became mentally robust and physically fit. We progressed and eventually, our QQI qualifications gave us direct access to third level courses, even though we didn’t plan on doing degrees when we started our journey!
Instilling a passion for the outdoors, on and off the water, was the reason we established Lough Allen Adventure Centre. Deciding to train and teach the next generation was a natural progression for us. Our mission is to nurture each student’s goals and guide them on their own journey of self-discovery. You can read a little more of our story here.
We want you to be excellent instructors and skilled outdoor adventurists. When you finish your course, you’ll be qualified to Level 5 or 6 QQI, internationally-recognised qualifications.
You’ll have the benefit of a firm foundation in both the physical sports and the academic background to take your career to the next level.
If you choose to continue your studies, your QQI level 6 qualification may allow you to by-pass the first year of a relevant third-level degree course.
