Course Overview
During their studies, students on the IFY Science programme will cover four main academic subjects – English for Academic Purposes, Mathematics for Science, Chemistry and Biology.

Alongside these subjects, students will also gain key skills, such as:
• Critical thinking
• Problem solving
• Time management
• Presentation skills
• Academic writing
• ICT skills

A central component of the programme is the personalised guidance and support students receive when it comes to applying university. Weekly tutorials help students to learn about their options, prepare stand-out personal statements and prepare their university applications.

What subjects will I study? Curriculum for IFY Sciences programme: Programme Element • English for Academic Purposes - 6 Hours per week • ESAP for Science - 3 Hours per week • Mathematics for Science - 5 Hours per week • Science – two subjects: Chemistry and Biology at 4 hours/week each - 8 Hours per week • Additional Chemistry - 1 Hour per week • Pastoral care/progression counselling - 1 Hour per week
