Pre-Sessional English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Programme
The English Language Centre is committed to providing our international students the opportunity to develop their English language and academic skills towards reaching their fullest potential as university students. We recognise that the language and skills required for academic study can be challenging and we support you as you build and develop these skills throughout your studies. We provide Pre-Sessional English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Courses to help students prepare for academic study as well as In-Sessional English for Academic Purposes (EAP) workshops throughout your studies with us.

Pre-Sessional EAP Programme Overview
• Develop proficiency in the core linguistic areas (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking)
• Academic skills development (research methodologies, academic writing, critical thinking, presentation skills).
• Build discipline-related knowledge through academic text analysis and reading
• One-one-feedback sessions and coaching to assist students with a successful transition to your chosen programme.
• Orientation to Irish culture and student life at University of Galway

• General English language acquisition (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
• English for Academic Purposes
• IELTS Academic Exam Preparation
• Academic Skills; Research, Communication, Academic Writing, Presentations, Seminar Participation
• Orientation to NUI Galway's learning technologies and support services
